BNT COMPANY DANCER
Colleen Reed, originally from Easton, Pennsylvania started dancing under the direction of Oleg Briansky and Mireille Briane, continuing under Karen Knerr at Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. During those years she also danced at summer intensives with The Rock School in Philadelphia, Boston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Carolina Ballet, and Nashville Ballet. She then continued her dance training at the University of Oklahoma where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. There, she danced under the direction of Mary Margaret Holt, Michael Bearden and Austin Hartel. She also had the opportunity to travel to Barcelona and perform at the Centre de Dansa de Catalunya Gala. After graduation she danced professionally with Ballet Frontier in Fort Worth under the direction of Chung-Lin Tseng. This will be her fifth season with Ballet North Texas. Under the direction of Nicolina Lawson, she has had the opportunity to dance roles including Snow Queen, Spanish Spanish Chocolate and Arabian Coffee from The Nutcracker, Fairy of Temperament and Princess Florine from Sleeping Beauty, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, as well as originated many soloist roles in new classical, Neo-classical and contemporary repertory for Ballet North Texas.
